Welcome to the Lincoln Parent Teacher Group!

Our mission is to enhance and support the educational experience at Lincoln Elementary School in Washington, Iowa, to develop a closer connection between school and home by encouraging parent(s)/family involvement, and to improve the environment at Lincoln Elementary School through volunteer and financial support. 


During the school year, we have monthly meetings on the 3rd Monday of each month at 5:30pm in the school media center.  All parents and guardians of Lincoln students are encouraged to attend to be informed about the activities happening at Lincoln school.

Here are some of the ways we support Lincoln School:

  • We purchase classroom supplies for teachers half way through the school year when items like tissues, markers, wipes, etc start to run out.
  • We help with vision and hearing tests and school pictures by leading classrooms to the area of the activity.
  • We purchase items for classrooms like electric pencil sharpeners, book boxes, white boards, educational games, etc.
  • We provide snacks and gum for students to enjoy during the Iowa Assessment testing.
  • We fund field trips for the students.
  • We coordinate meals for teachers on parent teacher conference nights.
  • We give small gifts to the teachers throughout the year to show our appreciation of the time they give to our kids.
  • We fund the 3 PBIS parties where students are rewarded for good behavior .
  • We have also purchased playground equipment, benches, and most recently a lego wall and 6 more Dash and Dot robots for the Makerspace room where students go to explore their creativity and create inventions with up-cycled materials.
